Sample Itinerary

We ask that incoming guests not come into the ranch until 3:30 P.M. As with all of our private ranches we try to stress that all guests adhere to the schedule for their particular reservation. No one wants to be finishing up their stay at a ranch and have the incoming clients arrive early. Of course, if the guest’s leaving over stayed their departing time that overlapping of groups may not be avoidable. Please follow the time schedule- its makes everyone’s trip more enjoyable.

You will be provided with a very complete information packet of the ranch,
with simple regulations and maps of each beat along with the best fishing tips we could think of. You will notice, while on the beats, there are no signs or ropes showing you where one beat ends or another begins. However, looking carefully at each map and comparing the streams bends & pools you will know when you are in the vicinity of the end your beat.

Non fishing guests have the run of the trails and roads on the beat their companion is fishing.

We ask that you avoid hiking into another party’s area. It is only 20 minutes to nearby Whiskytown and its extensive trail system, exquisite falls, and its many beaches.

We have cleared the trails and added some signage to help you move up and down the stream as easily as possible. In some cases the ranch roads are the best trails. We have tried to eradicate much of the poison oak along the trails, and for sure we have taken it out around each cabin.

We have also made a big effort to open up casting lanes along most of the pools so you can make a short cast at least without catching a tree or bush. You may have to take a moment to find them, because we wanted to keep the stream looking as natural as possible. In some cases they just were not necessary. In other cases we would have had to remove far too much streamside foliage and loose that natural look. Our advice is to check behind you more than you do ahead of you when casting.

The housekeeper will arrive to start cleaning the cabins at 1:00 PM, so we ask you to be out of the cabins by then. You are more than welcome to fish until 3:00 PM and then it is your time to depart and soon after a new group most likely will be arriving. In a perfect world you will pass each other on the road somewhere and all will be well. You will have been mailed a key to open the ranch gate and we ask that you drop that into a mail box in the return envelope.
