| River Access on the Lower Sacramento River
What is typically considered to be the "Lower Sacramento" River begins at Keswick Dam several miles north of Redding. From there the river carves its way through the town of Redding and on southward through the Central Valley. Most of the Sacramento flows through either private property or BLM land. The upper 16 miles between Redding and Anderson, however, affords several access spots and public parks where anglers can find successful bank fishing opportunities when river flows allow. Anglers interested in fishing the river from the bank can contact The Fly Shop (530-222-3555) for more information about river conditions, flows, and recent fishing reports. Local area access maps can be picked-up at The Fly Shop® at no charge. |
